Description

This is one of the vehicles from my Star Wars Fanfiction Series: Star Wars: The Shadow Wars. The series is currently between "Seasons."

Note: The information below is from my own universe which is a blend of old and new canon and it not to be considered canon in any other universe but mine.  I should also mention that this ship is canon (at least legacy canon) but its history is significantly different as far as my universe is concerned.

Class: AAC-1 Speeder Tank
Manufacturer: Sorosub Corporation (Developer and manufacturer after 5 ABY), Rebel Alliance Corps of Engineers
Affiliations: The New Republic, The Rebellion (Formerly), Various private security forces, various mercenary and pirate forces

"Take a moment to reflect on this if you will. We owe one of our most essential combat vehicles to a game of Sabacc. I choose to laugh with relief. It's so absurd to think about, but damned if I'm not grateful for that lucky hand." - Gen. Carlist Reekan on the AAC-1

The AAC-1, some would say, was an accidental success. Sorosub Corporation initially designed these tanks for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars but the design was passed on as the war came to an end. Instead Sorosub sat on the designs for several years until one of their engineers, who had access to the tank's schematics, lost the schematics to an agent of the Rebellion in an ill-fated sabacc game that saw the loss of several Sorosub vehicles to the Rebellion. The Rebels seized on the new designs and put the AAC-1 into service. What they got was a powerful all-purpose speeder tank. The AAC-1 could take on enemy infantry with its repeating particle cannons, punch holes in Imperial walker armor with its laser cannons, and fend off Imperial fighters with its missile launchers. The AAC-1 proved to be a success for the Rebellion and regularly fought side-by-side the T series tanks used by the Rebellion. The AAC-1's small size made it optimal for combat in urban and jungle environments, often catching Imperial forces off guard when the environment forbade the wider TX-130Ts from being deployed.

The AAC-1 saw continued usage well after the Galactic Civil War and has even seen usage in the Shadow Wars. The AAC-1's biggest strength is also its biggest flaw: its ability to take on infantry, vehicles, and aircraft, while useful, simply lacks the punch and effectiveness that other vehicles designed to specialize in those specific areas typically have. AAC-1s are still formidable but are almost always backed up by more specialized vehicles.
